What universities have budget places

Most universities in early August have already completed the admission of students to budget places, but there are still specialties where there are more budget places ... than there are applicants, so you can still enter!

Petersburg: nobody wants at sea

Competition in St. Petersburg universities in the summer of 2015 averaged 12 people per place. True, in prestigious universities - such as, for example, St. Petersburg State University, in individual faculties 45 graduates fought for the same student title, and literally everyone could enter the budget for some universities. For example, at the Admiral Makarov State University of the Sea and River Fleet, the competition for any specialties amounted to even less than a person in place. So, 30 people planned to take the specialty “Water Transport Management”, and in fact only 24 applicants submitted an application here - it turns out that the competition is only 0.8 people per place. In total, 160 unoccupied budget places remained at the university. In the selection committee, this phenomenon is explained by the unpopularity of “marine” specialties: graduates do not want to engage in shipbuilding, navigation and the operation of marine electrical equipment - all go to managers, economists and PR specialists.

In another university of this profile - the Marine Technical University, the famous "ship" - the situation is much better. The competition for individual specialties amounted to 20 people per place, however, and at this university there was an unclaimed direction - "Construction, repair and search and rescue support of surface ships and submarines." The targeted admission to this specialty was 40 people, and 44 people wished to repair submarines. The extra four people would also be taken, but two of them gave the original documents to other destinations in the same university, and two others completely changed their minds about coming here. As a result, the competition was 1 person per place.

Among 40 newly minted students - yesterday's St. Petersburg graduate Artyom Gondarenko. The young man followed in the footsteps of his older brother, who is engaged in the repair of ships in the Navy. “It seemed strange to me that there was little competition in this area,” shared Artyom with AiF.ru correspondent. - Yes, this is a rare specialty, but it seems to me that very soon it will be very popular. In addition, along with the civilian specialty, I will also receive a military one, they will give me the rank of lieutenant. After graduation, I will definitely be employed - I will definitely have to work under the contract for three years - this is a big plus! Perhaps I will be engaged in projects, drawings or repair of ships and submarines, replace equipment, conduct diagnostics. In any case, I’m sure it will be interesting! ”

Volgograd: mathematics is in disgrace

In Volgograd, the lowest competition for admission to the mathematical faculties. So, for example, at Volgograd State University, 78 people expressed a desire to enter the faculty this year. Whereas there are only 25 budget places. This is a little more than three people per seat. But, in fact, the competition is even less.

“Most of those who submitted the application will subsequently transfer to other specialties related to mathematics,” AiF.ru told VolSU, “for example,“ Computer equipment ”or“ Information Security ”. And there will be just enough “pure mathematicians” to close budget places. ”

The situation at the pedagogical university is even sadder. According to official data posted on the VGSPU website, the minimum number of maths required to enter a university is only 27. This is exactly the amount that the Unified State Exam is considered to be passed in principle.

However, they refused to give more detailed information about the number of budget places, the total passing points, as well as the number of applications for physics, mathematics and computer science, citing that they will not comment on the admission campaign until September.

“All the high scores go to Moscow and Petersburg. Therefore, if only an exam were passed and a total score was obtained for passing, ”one of the teachers of the Faculty of Mathematics of VSPU shared with AiF.ru on condition of anonymity. - The Faculty of Mathematics is an intermediate stage. Then students enter additionally on economics or finance. They rarely go to work in school, mainly in a bank. ”

At the same time, physics suffers even more than mathematics, the teacher is sure. Wishing to become teachers of physics "count on the fingers." And to enter, just dial a little more than the minimum.

“For a physics teacher in general - go and do it. The only thing you need is to take an additional exam, and nobody wants to do this from the graduates. And if there are any “creams” - talented students, then they all try to leave for the capital’s universities, ”the teacher says.

Competition for strong students in provincial universities is not easy. Starting from the 8th-9th grade, young Volgograd residents have a fixed idea - to go to Moscow and study there. Therefore, new groups of applicants are formed from those that remain. Including from frankly weak graduates. It is not surprising that they make weak teachers, who then bring up students who are just as weak in mathematics.

Yuri Lepyokhin believes that it is necessary to raise the prestige of a teacher of mathematics. A photo: / Nadezhda Kuzmina

“I’m afraid that this trend is characteristic not only for Volgograd universities, but also for the country in general,” says honored Teacher of the Russian Federation, Hero of Labor Yuri Lepyokhin- But physics in general is a blockage, physics teachers are always shortage. This is due to working conditions and the prestige of the specialty. Pure mathematicians find it extremely difficult to find work. Therefore, all sorts of “applications” to mathematics are popular today. For example, everything related to information technology. After all, mathematics is a very laborious work, complicated. And here, through the media and television, a consumer society is being brought up. It is suggested that without much work and effort, one can get some benefits. Therefore, it is necessary at the state level to raise the authority of the profession both morally and financially, ”the teacher is sure.

Perm: light industry technologist

Perm State Humanitarian and Pedagogical University is one of the oldest universities in the Urals. This year, the institution received about 6,500 applications. The average full-time competition is 6.9 people per seat. Traditionally, the most popular is the direction of "Pedagogical education." About 19.8 people showed up for the Economy profile, 18.4 for History and Social Studies, and 16.2 for Law and Social Studies.

Meanwhile, technical specialties still remain unclaimed at PSPU. One of these is the “Light Industry Product Technology”. There is no competition at all! During the summer period, only six applications were submitted here - these guys are already enrolled in the first year. According to the state plan, the plan is 15 people, so it was decided to extend the acceptance of documents until August 25. The university hopes that soon talented guys will definitely take places.

“It's strange why no one wants to go here. Now it is an extremely promising profession. Moreover, we accept the minimum results of the exam. Physics - from 38 points, mathematics - from 27, Russian language - from 36, ”the university admissions committee noted.

Graduates of this specialty become technologists in production.   Dean of the Faculty of Physics, PSPU Denis Polezhaev  considers, many applicants are afraid that their craft will consist only in work on the sewing machine.

“In fact, these are senior managers. Suppose, such a specialist decides how to correctly position the machines or in what order the action should be performed when sewing the product, ”he assures.

However, according to him, the other side of the coin is that light industry is almost ruined in the Perm Territory. Only countless ateliers and workshops remained, where there is a fairly average level of demand. And this is work on the machine instead of the managerial post.

“China has defeated everyone. In Prikamye there are few medium-sized enterprises, so to speak, that are engaged in the production of finished products, where our specialists would be useful precisely as managers, and not ordinary workers. Although there are "unsinkable whales." These are, for example, factories for the production of clothing in the military sphere, ”added Denis Polezhaev.

The last enrollment in the specialty “Technology of light industry products” amounted to 14 people. What will happen this year, time will tell.

Chelyabinsk: shortage of metallurgists

Applicant Sergey, living in one of the small towns of the Chelyabinsk region, Korkino, admits: he lost hope of becoming a student in the budget department of the university, still passing the exam. Mom of the young man spared no money either for tutors, or for gifts to teachers, or for the graduate's vitamin-enhanced nutrition. But the stars decided differently: Seryozha passed the exams extremely poorly.

“I was so ashamed of my mother, - bouncing almost to the ceiling, because he still went to the budget, a first-year student of one of the largest Chelyabinsk universities, SUSU, admits - you can’t imagine what it’s impossible to do in our tiny town. My mom is my doctor, everyone knows our family. I had two options: with a shield or on a shield. And I passed! "

Of the three grades in mathematics, physics and the Russian language, Sergey had a very modest amount of points - a little over a hundred. The guy’s mother cried: there is no money to pay for the son of the university, and she so dreamed that he, whom Tatyana had been pulling all her life alone, would live up to her hopes. Payment for training at SUSU is 70-112 thousand rubles per year, depending on the specialty.

“SUSU has long made an excellent decision - you can apply for several specialties at once,” says Sergey. “In order of priority, three.” Well, my mother and I, as she wanted, filed for today's fashionable computer science and mathematics. I knew that I would not pass the competition. There was nothing to hope for: in the selection committee I met a girl who had 250 points and won the Olympics, and this is another ten points in the set-off. And just in case, I handed over the documents to the local techie, so as not to lose a year. ”

On leaving the university, Seryozha met a friend whom he had not seen for ten years. Once, a hundred years ago, the guys had a rest together in a country camp. Timofey said that he received a little higher marks in the USE than Seryozha. And went to one of the most unpopular specialties of the university - "Metallurgy". Like, I have three solid triples in the USE, Timofei joked, and you have three triples with a minus.

“I say, well, as you already know, what has passed?” - says the most successful applicant of this year. - But Timokha, they say, didn’t enter the head university itself, but its branch in Satka. And there is no competition for this specialty in principle. Literally one person per place - it happens! ”

Now, Sergey considers his childhood friend Timu to be his guardian angel. It turned out that in Chelyabinsk, as well as in the branch of the university, Metallurgy is an unpopular specialty. And here the points scored by Sergey end-to-end, but enough to pass. The lowest math score with which documents were accepted at the university is 27. That is exactly what Sergey scored according to the results of the exam.

“I'm really happy that I did not let my mom down,” says Sergey. - Let everyone strive for instrument making and jurisprudence, cry, spend their nerves, and then try to find a job in their specialty. Now every second person with a diploma of a lawyer or an economist in our city trades in the market or in a store and is glad that he has at least some kind of income. And I will study for free, and I will also receive a scholarship. ”

Seryozha is sure: for a man to have a diploma in higher education in the specialty "Metallurgy" is very good. “And let,” the student says, “even for the first time I will work as the“ third assistant to the younger steelworker, ”but I have a higher education of one of the most prestigious universities in the region. In the meantime, studying, you look, and the country's heavy industry will rise from its knees. And in factories, as you know, the salaries of top technical personnel are excellent. ” Today, Seryozha came to the university to learn about the hostel and, of course, to bring his beloved mother along the corridors of alma mater.

Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee of SUSU Alexander Gubarev  confirms: from year to year the same specialties are in greatest or least demand among applicants. The university has not yet summed up the admission campaign in 2015, but, as practice shows, most likely now, analyzing the data of previous years, applicants can submit a competition for one or another faculty.

Rostov-on-Don: Seafarer and IT

In Rostov-on-Don in 2015, it was easiest to enter a university on a budget in technical specialties, where competition was the least. Well, if they didn’t take them anywhere, then almost everyone would be welcomed by the Sedov Institute of Water Transport.

Rostovchanin Dmitryhe entered the North Caucasian branch of the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics at one of the faculties. In the future, he sees himself as a “hacker in the service of the state” and consciously chose his future profession.

“I wanted to go to the Southern Federal University, but I didn’t have enough points, but I’m happy that I went to MTUCI, my parents are not so well-off that I pay 80 thousand rubles a year for training,” the future IT specialist says. He is not embarrassed that the university does not have a military department: “If necessary, I will serve,” he says. By the way, the small competition at MTUCI for the IT professions that are so prestigious today is also due to the fact that the university does not have a hostel. Therefore, visitors have to choose another, for example, to go to Taganrog - to the Engineering and Technology Academy (structure of SFU).

But these circumstances were only to the advantage of the Rostovites, some were even praised by a little over 120 points (MTLI, Russian language, mathematics and computer science) for admission to MTUCI. At the same type of faculty in SFedU required a minimum of 160 points.

“If I didn’t go to MTUCI, I would go to a“ sailor ”, they take everyone there, some of my former classmates did so,” Dmitry sums up the conversation.

The Rostov “seaman” is the Sedov Institute of Water Transport (a branch of Admiral Ushakov State Maritime University, Novorossiysk).

Navigation, water transport management and hydrographic support of navigation, technology of transport processes - the university is preparing for such professions, including among girls.

The shortage here is chronic every year. To enter here, it is enough to gain a minimum score on the exam. But you can’t say that studying in a sailor is not prestigious. The profession of a riverman is held in high esteem on the Don, there are ports and large specialized plants, not in vain because Rostov is called the port of five seas. Therefore, in the "sailor" they promise you guaranteed employment. Of course, with good study.

“I didn’t achieve any special results in the USE, but here they give me a uniform and promise to give a free scholarship, and I’ll also pay a scholarship, so I’ll be happy to study in a sailor, this is a new stage in my life, and I live next with the Don River, ”agrees to comment on his admission to the Sedov Institute of Water Transport   Andrew. He adds that he is brought up by one mother, so "stop sitting on her neck."

In the most prestigious university in the south of the country - the Southern Federal University - the easiest way, by tradition, was to enter the faculty of Applied Geology. Almost all applicants who have handed over the originals are enrolled. To become a geologist, it was necessary to fulfill one condition - to overcome the minimum threshold score for the exam, which was appointed by the university. It is important to pass three exams, each gaining a little more than 50 points.

Graduates of this faculty, alas, rarely connect their lives with the romantic profession of a geologist. Young men come here, not even hiding their main goal - to get away from conscription in the army.

You can say halva for a long time, but it doesn’t become sweeter in your mouth. The desire of the Ministry of Education and Science to artificially reduce the number of humanities and increase the number of techies led to completely unexpected consequences - universities began to miss applicants. And it affected even the leading technical universities.

A vivid example of this is MSTU. Bauman. In 2013, in accordance with the ministerial order No. 313 of April 29, 2013, the university was allocated 1889 budget places for undergraduate studies and 1419 places for specialty. Thus, the total set amounted to 3308 budget places.

In 2014, the situation changed somewhat. As follows from the order for establishing admission control figures of December 30, 2013 No. 1424, additional limits were granted to the university, as a result of which the general set increased to 3394 budget places (1847 undergraduate + 1547 specialties).

And no one would have paid attention to this difference if not a single “but”. The current admission to the university is fundamentally different from the one that was a year earlier. A characteristic feature of the 2014 reception is the availability of free budget places, which until now remain unfilled.

As follows from the official information posted on the university’s website, as of July 21 (that is, actually 4 days before the end of the reception of documents), a shortage is observed in most areas of preparation. And this is despite the fact that the university opened the doors to almost all applicants who scored the minimum points in the USE (mathematics - 24, Russian - 36, physics - 36).

In this situation, it is difficult to even imagine how things are with less popular technical universities, especially those who decided to raise the boundaries of the minimum scores required to submit documents to the budget. It is possible that there are even more problems, although not a fact.

But, let's not guess on the coffee grounds. On July 28, universities will post rating lists and then everything will become clear. However, something else is clear now. If the described situation is common for all technical universities, wait in the last days of accepting the outflow of applicants from the commercial form of education to the budget, because the administration of educational institutions will make every effort to fill vacancies. And the second one. If the Ministry of Education and Science monitors the situation, then next year everything will be done to level the proportion between the number of graduates and the number of budget places in universities. Therefore, wait for their reduction, and, perhaps, much more significant than in previous years.

P.S. The above example is not a reason to urgently rush to storm those universities where there is a shortage. There are too many questions here, including the number of free places. In addition, it is possible that many applicants will want to try their luck, and therefore some of them will not have enough points, and they will be replaced by others. As a result, you can lose the chance to enter not only a more prestigious university, but also to the one that was in mind before. How can one not recall the winged expression - a titmouse in a hand is better than a crane in the sky.

The main innovation of the admission campaign-2016 will be a new main document, which must be submitted to the admissions office of applicants. As the chairman of the Committee on Science and Higher Education Andrei Maksimov said, if the original certificate of secondary education was previously required, now it’s a separate document called an “application for consent to enrollment” with the application of the certificate. In addition, this year some priorities for applicants are actually canceled - for example, the silver badge of the TRP. The Ministry of Education and Science prepared its order in the fall, but most universities learned about the essence of innovations only in the spring.

There are fewer benefits, more confusion

“In this regard, there will be inevitable adjustments in terms of the opening campaign,” said Andrei Maksimov. - So, the commission for the reception of documents will work from June 20 to July 26 (except for creative educational institutions). On July 27, all universities are required to post lists of applicants for the so-called first wave, which includes 80% of applicants. On August 1, acceptance of applications for admission and acceptance of the original certificate ends. The second wave (extension of the remaining 20%) will be held from August 3 ".

Now, the winners of subject Olympiads will not be able to get more than 65 additional points (in 2015 there were 75).

As the chairman of the council for coordinating admission to universities of the Public Council “Council of Rectors of St. Petersburg universities” Anatoly Ovodenko specified, the new technology for submitting documents will be permanent and nationwide. Now, the winners of subject Olympiads will not be able to get more than 65 additional points (in 2015 there were 75). Accounting for individual achievements, which can now total no more than 10 points (last year it was 20 points), is also canceled. From now on, the TRP silver badge is not considered a priority upon receipt.

True, each university has the right to make its own adjustments in the accrual of additional points for some successes and achievements - for example, to give an additional 10 points for the essay and the golden TRP badge. Among the priorities are still a gold or silver medal or diploma with honors about secondary vocational education.

But most importantly - the notorious "consent to enrollment." The entrant can submit the fundamental document for the university to the educational institution at any time until August 1. And just the same - at any time - pick up. For a university, this means that until the last moment, that is, until August 1, the higher educational institution will be on a powder keg, not knowing exactly how many applicants want to enter their particular university and how to regulate the number of applicants in the first and second waves.

A university can count on an applicant only if the number of pieces of paper with the word “consent” reaches 80%.

“A university can count on an applicant only if the number of pieces of paper with the word“ consent ”reaches 80%. But it’s clear that this gives rise to serious problems, because an applicant can take away his “consent” at any time and take it to another place. Moreover, each university should monitor the situation daily and report the results of the received “consents”. And all this gives rise to difficulties with the second wave (add 20%). It is necessary to get the missing number of applicants using the same system, ”the leaders of the rector’s community noted.

The question of why and to whom all this is needed remained unanswered. As noted by Andrei Maksimov, "all this is done to improve work with applicants and openness of the picture of the introductory campaign." The notorious “consent” is not required only for those who enter training on a contract basis.

When asked whether the universities themselves and, in fact, applicants, the rectors answered about innovations rather evasively: each university and each applicant must take care to know everything.

Where will St. Petersburg applicants go to study

For the rest, the introductory campaign does not imply special innovations. The control figures have remained almost at the same level: 26 thousand places for undergraduate and specialty, control numbers for admission to the master's program have increased by 1,500 thousand places (in 2015 there were a little more than 10 thousand people). Due to this, the total number increased slightly: from 37,797 to 38,604.

Students expect 43 civilian universities (26 universities, 5 academies, 6 institutes, 6 branches of universities) and one conservatory, as well as 36 non-state universities.

Students expect 43 civilian universities, of which 26 universities, 5 academies, 6 institutes, 6 branches of universities, and one conservatory, as well as 36 non-state universities. In state higher education institutions in 2015, more than 277 thousand students studied, in non-state - about 30 thousand. In total, more than 307 thousand students study in the city on the Neva, and more than 63 thousand people study there, most of which are professors, including about 17 thousand doctors and candidates of sciences.

As noted by Anatoly Ovodenko, “it’s nice that the total number of applicants for the core exam in 2016 is higher than in the past” (except for the core exam in mathematics). This means that applicants have become more focused on specific specialties. The special exam in social studies (14,882 enrolled), in physics and computer science (7,848 and 2,545, respectively) is especially popular. But the French and Spanish languages \u200b\u200bare not popular - only 225 and 59 recorded.

In 2015, the average competition for state universities in St. Petersburg amounted to 11.9 applications per place. Technical specialties and traditional humanitarian ones are still popular: economics, jurisprudence, and management.

“However, it is encouraging that in 2015, scores for technical specialties increased sharply, and they are deservedly in demand by applicants. For example, the average USE contest at the Mining Institute for one of the specialties was 80 people per place! For the third year in a row, Petersburg student programmers from St. Petersburg State University and ITMO become gold and silver winners of world programming championships, ahead of the Chinese and Americans. All medical universities of the city are in demand, but there was a time in the early 2000s, when the competition was 1 person per place. The opening campaign of 2016 will not bring big surprises - with the exception of serious adjustments to the procedure for receiving documents, ”said the head of the committee on science and higher education.
